The Magic of Facilitator Cards – Guest event next week!

Hello Reader,

Have you ever lead a workshop, taught a class, or spearheaded a meeting and something just wasn’t quite right?

Either the group didn’t seem to mesh or energy levels were low, or maybe someone kept talking and you weren't sure how to get things back on track😬?

As community builders, coaches, and teachers, I’m pretty sure we’ve all been there. An awkward group session is discouraging – and when I feel awkward I keep talking....

and talking...

Yeah, so this is one of the things I'm a little embarrassed about – especially because I have so much training as a facilitator.

But what keeps me going is that I know that the flip side is that when sessions go well, it feels like absolute magic.

But it’s not magic.

Despite some embarrassment and failure, it's curiosity that keeps me going. Was pretty stoked when I heard about facilitator cards. Of course I had to dig in and start exploring.

Join me in leveling up facilitation skills!

At the core of every successful group event is a well-trained facilitator, equipped with tools of the trade. They know what levers to pull to create moments of connection, collaboration, and learning.

Next week we're hosting a special event with the creator of Facilitator Cards, Meg Bolger. We're starting to incorporate more of these guest events in our weekly series for the Maple community. You're invited!

Meg Bolger is one such magician - ahem, I mean facilitator.

She’s helped thousands improve their practice through resources like The Safe Zone Project and FacilitatingXYZ.

Meg is also the innovative mind behind Facilitator Cards, a powerful methodology to build group participation that fits in the palm of your hand.

I’m very honored to have the opportunity to interview Meg this coming July 23rd. Please join us, and come prepared with your own facilitation challenges and questions.

It’s sure to be a rich conversation for anyone, especially educators and organizations that use connection as a guiding principle in their work.

We hope to see you there!

Best,
Ryan

P.S. Oh my goodness, check out their website. It's so creative and vibrant and fascinating. Not to mention there's an entire online course component that goes with this deck of cards.

Sincerely,
