A Gravatar, aka Globally Recognized Avatar, is a tool that integrates with platforms like WordPress, Slack, Kit, Gmail, and more, to help you show up consistently and professionally across the internet. Your Gravatar profile includes a photo, short bio, and simple landing page. Having one can help save you the time and hassle of manually uploading this information on every blog post you publish or profile you create. More importantly, showing up consistently sends trust signals to your readers, increasing engagement and search-ability. In this 2-part workshop, Ryan and Liz will provide a short training before we set up and complete our Gravatars in real time. For Part 1, Liz will demonstrate how to use copywriting techniques to create a concise, intriguing, and value-driven bio. Then, we’ll have a chance to write, share, and edit them together. In Part 2, Ryan will go over profile set up and show us how to add a photo and text, connect our Gravatar to accounts we’re already using, and create a simple landing page. By the end of this workshop, you’ll have:

SUPER CONNECTORS Participatory Workshop Design with Gwyn WansbroughI’m excited for this follow-up on Facilitation with Gwyn. This time we’ll be digging into workshop design. Designing run of show in advance doesn’t mean it needs to be rigid. But we can support groups better when we craft sessions to: - Start with connection & context - Expanding on ideas, creating clarity - Offering time for reflection and integration - Closing with decisiveness, commitment, and energy The phrase "Zoom fatigue" may have fallen out of fashion lately, but many of us still experience that phenomena on a regular basis. Our next guest is facilitation trainer Gwyn Wansbrough. Come learn about her set of tools for making online sessions engaging. We are huge fans, and know you will be too, so please join us for this live event with Gwyn, where we'll discuss the preparation and design process for hosting an awesome online event. This event is part of our ongoing series introducing you to educators and organizations that use connection as a guiding principle in their work.
Why do we host so many events?Since January, our team has been doing an event almost every week, plus office hours for our clients on Fridays, where they can drop in and work on their website with us. Do you know any other website care plan service that is building a community and offering real, live in-person support? I hope you do!I'm trying to build my personal network with other web developers who share the same values of community, transparency, and connection. It seems to be really scarce in the web design industry. At any rate, I've been hosting events since I was a teenager. And I've learned that it's the way that I can be the most effective and consistent as a creator. I'm certainly not perfect, and I can be hard on myself when I'm working on an essay or editing a video (working on this). But a live event, webinar, workshop – This is where I can just flow with the energy of the group. We get to work on solving a problem together. The more that we incorporate tools of facilitation, the more we can benefit from the combined knowledge of a group. A BIG thanks to Liz and Rachel for being a big part of this effort! Liz is a an incredible thought partner who asks all the right questions – and has been helping clients level up their website content. Rachel keeps our project management and operations on track and going smoothly, making sure the replays are published in our Circle community and questions get answered. Click here to see all upcoming events See you soon! P.S. The interview with Meg Bolger from Facilitator Cards a couple of weeks ago was amazing. You can catch the replay here. |
