Workshop series: Content Planning (Part 3)

Hello Reader,

I'm back from Pittsburgh and excited to add another workshop session to our content planning series!

Next Free Workshop:

The topic is Tools for Content Planning, which wraps up nicely on the previous workshops (but it's okay if you missed them).

The method is to start with your values, then identify the types of content that align with your offers. Finally, it's time to make a plan.

So let's dig into the tools and methods for planning content!

This will help if you're planning to get ideas flowing, wanting to align momentum, or starting a job as a communications professional.

Tools for Content Planning

You’ve got so many ideas for content, so how do you organize them?!?! This workshop is building on previous sessions where we’ve brainstormed ideas – so now it’s time to get them into a content schedule.

Our process at Maple is a blend of lessons learned from various mentors (thanked below). While we use Notion (and have a template you can copy), you can use any tool you like.

The principles at work are cross platform. It’s about having a high-altitude view and maintaining a practice orientation. Let the ideas grow a bit, but don’t rush them. I’m excited to show you how.

What you’ll learn (list three things)

  1. Watch Liz and I schedule content in real time
  2. How to turn your brainstorm into a framework
  3. How to outline ideas without over-defining them

Figuring it all out

Publishing consistently has eluded me for over a decade – and for some reason it’s a wall I keep throwing myself against. I feel like I’m finally starting to break through, and I’m here to share the journey (even the messy parts).

If you’ve got a long list of ideas you want to share, but not sure how to plan it all out – well hey! Hello! Come on in! This one is for you, friend.

Of course a shout-out to some of the mentors who’ve supported my creativity and process over the years… Marie Poulin, Chris Do, Tara McMullin, David Allen, Tatiana Figueiredo, Seth Godin.

FAQs

  • Will this event be recorded? Yes, but only sharing the recording and materials inside the Maple Community (apply here)
  • Is the event free? Yes! All our events are free right now.
  • How can I prepare? For this event, brainstorm a big list of ideas for content. This way you can participate in the planning/scheduling exercise.
  • What if I’m a beginner, will this be applicable? Yes! Though I’ll argue that you’re not actually a beginner when it comes to having experience and value to share with others. You might just be a beginner with publishing online. That’s fine. But you gotta decide – are you stuck because you think you need to do it all yourself? Most creators hand off their drafts to a professional who formats and publishes content for them – and it’s not as out of reach as you might think.

That's it.

Until next time,
